July was a very busy one, full of visiting family and camping. We went to Utah for a week for the Cannon family reunion. We got to see Grace get baptized on Saturday in Provo. The Ballard's rented jet ski's on Monday and we went to Deer Creek to play in the water. Tuesday we went to the reunion at Snowbird. We really enjoyed seeing everyone and spending time at snowbird. We rode the tram to the top (above) and went on lots of "Bear Hunt's" with the kids. Our kids are true desert kids and really enjoyed playing in the snow (below), if you could call the patches of ice that were left snow.
On our way home we stopped and camped at Zion for a night. We hiked to the Emerald Pools, and along the river where Sarah fell off a rock and skinned her knee for about the third time on the trip.
It seems like we barely got our things unpacked and washed before we got to go see all the Davenport's. (We did however have time for all of us to get sick and spend a day or so throwing up.)
We all met up in King's Canyon and spent a weekend camping. It was great to see everyone and Kings Canyon was gorgeous. I still can't believe how dirty the kids got while we camped.
We hiked around Zumwalt Meadow, to Roaring River falls (above), Muir Rock (below), and Mist Falls. The kids will hike forever if they can climb on rocks, chase cousins, and hold Grandma's hand.
Saturday Jeff, Jamie, Tom, Mom, and Matt and I, went to hike Paradise Valley Trail to see Mist Falls. I have a few pictures below of the amazing view of the canyon and the beautiful falls. We all got eaten alive by Mosquitos by the falls, but these did not make us nearly as nervous as the two rattlesnakes and the bear which crossed our trail, I unfortunately did not get a picture of those.
On our way out of the park we stopped at Grant's Grove to walk through the Fallen Monarch (below) and to see General Grant, the second largest tree in . . . I'm not sure. We all hurried to Fresno for quick showers and then over to Bill and Gina's for Ronin's baby blessing. I was very impressed by our ability to shower six adults, bathe three children, and dress two others using two showers in just one hour so that we could make it to Ronin's blessing which we barely made it for.
