While we were camping with the Davenport's Benson had his second birthday. He got to open a rake and shovel on his birthday which was a big hit while we were camping. When we got back we had the rest of the birthday experience a week or so later. He got to wear his BYU jersey which he asks to wear everyday and look at that stack of presents!
Benson loves cows. Every animal he sees he calls a cow until someone tells him that it is somethings else to which he often says "No, moo cow". So I felt it only appropriate to immortalize this love of cows by making him a cow cake. He loved it and now I think that along with calling all animals cows he will also call all cake cow.
Benson had alot of fun opening his presents. He got a tool bench and a few tool sets. He loves to hammer, and to run the drill and hit it with the screw driver. The tools have been a big hit for all the kids!
I thought this would be a good time to port what things two year old Benson likes to do best. He loves to run around and to talk as much as he can. He is constantly identifying things and looking to us to confirm that he is right. He doesn't enunciate very well and it is often a game to figure out what he is saying. He says "Bup" instead of cup and "Bip instead of fork which I often get mixed up. He has figured out what the store is for and anytime we run out of something or just tell him no more he says "Go buy more . . . ". He calls popsicles "icawa" and an ice cream sandwich a "yummy sandwich". Perhaps the most frustrating phrase he says is "no go away mommy" (or daddy) when he is mad he tells us to go away. He often says cute little mixed up things like "mommy turn dark off"
He is not potty trained yet but I do have hope that it will be soon because he likes to take all of the dolls and stuffed animals to the bathroom and have them go potty in the potty. He is ready I just need to get myself ready.
